New Blog Series: "Health for All Seasons"

It is hard to explain or to grasp how truly beautiful the theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) are. Everything in TCM strives for balance or harmony. Every needle that is placed in an acupuncture treatment is aiming to balance the body and the mind. Dietary recommendations are made in order to harmonize an individual's constitution, their current complaint or illness, and the specific time of year and environment in which they live. Yes, often I am making decisions in a more scientific manner, such as when needling directly into a trigger point in order to release a muscle. But what I delight in with my work is the balancing or harmonizing of individuals, their unique conditions, and their relation to the world around them changing with the seasons.

It is with that in mind, that I am starting a new series on this blog called "Health for All Seasons." In this series we will dive deep into each season as TCM understands it: how it affects us positively or negatively, how we can create more harmony during this time through diet or movement, and how knowing ourselves and the time of year we can accept these changes fluidly and create optimal health year round.

We have just entered into what TCM calls "Fifth Season" which will be the first entry of this series up next week. Stay tuned...
