New study demonstrates Acupuncture's effectiveness in treating chronic pain in cancer survivors.

A great new study released in JAMA Oncology demonstrates Acupuncture's effectiveness in treating chronic pain in cancer survivors. The study took place over 2.5 years and is ongoing right here in NYC and the surrounding suburbs. Auricular Acupuncture (acupuncture done on the ears primarily) and Electro Acupuncture were found to have measurable and lasting pain relief in over 350 patients. Electro Acupuncture was found to be slightly more effective in providing pain relief, though both produced clinically significant reductions in patients' pain levels.


The patients receiving Acupuncture treatments outperformed the control group receiving standard care including analgesic medications, physical therapy, and steroid injections.
